Anna Bell Potter

Our mom, Anna Bell Potter, 85, passed away peacefully August 9, 2020 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR after suffering a stroke a few days prior. She was born on August 6, 1935 in Weiner, AR. She was married for 55 years to our dad, Darnell Potter, preceding her in death in 2015. They lived in Walnut Ridge and were members of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Her love of the Catholic faith was an example to all of us. Mom worked at the Department of Human Services for 25 years. She was always a hard worker whether at the office or in the home. Before the onset of Alzheimer’s, she loved spending her free time working in the yard. Vegetables growing or beautiful flowers - we all have wonderful memories of Mom’s yard. The care and attention she gave to gardening was the same she gave to her family. The gift of her love, values and Catholic faith will always remain with us. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She looked forward to our visits, planning family meals, and playing with the grandchildren. Even after she had to move to the nursing home, she enjoyed visits from everyone, doing puzzles or playing cards with grandchildren, and meeting new great grandchildren. She was so proud of her family. She was a blessing to everyone that knew her, and she will be greatly missed. Mom is survived by daughters: Beth Brooks of Alma, AR, Mona Parker (Danny) of Jonesboro, Cindy Hollcraft (Chip) of Annandale, VA, Lynda Russell (Clarke) from Richardson, TX and son: Mark Potter (Laura) of The Woodlands, TX; Fifteen grandchildren: Reddi Parker (Emma) of Jonesboro, Holli Parker (Ivan) of Nashville, TN, Chase Parker of Jonesboro, Alyson Barrow (William) of Roanoke, TX, Chloe Duffy (Cody) of Aiken, SC, Catherine Potter of Houston, TX, Vince Potter of The Woodlands, TX, Laura Aydlette (Oscar) of Fort Hood, TX, Michelle Nott (Christian) of Des Moines, IA, Matthew Hollcraft of Fargo, ND, Aimee & Emily Hollcraft of Annandale, VA, Beck, Malcolm, & Merrick Russell of Richardson, TX; Sixteen great grandchildren: Skyler Coots, Eben & Hudson Parker of Jonesboro, Roland, Ellie, & Liam Parker-Barrientos of Nashville, TN, Madelyn & Owen Barrow of Roanoke, TX, Eve & Lochlan Duffy of Aiken, SC, Rafael, Atticus & Aurora Aydlette of Fort Hood, TX, and Gabriel, Rebecca & Theresa Nott of Des Moines, IA. She is preceded in death by her husband Darnell Potter, parents John & Anna Lehr, twin sister Carrie Bell, brother Martin Lehr, and son-in-law David Brooks. We will receive friends and family at Bryan Funeral Home on Thursday evening, August 13, 2020 at 6PM with rosary at 7PM. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10am Friday morning, August 14, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Josh Stengel officiating. Interment will follow in the Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.
