Juanita M Tolson

Juanita M. Tolson, 95 of Walnut Ridge; died March 16, 2021 at her residence. Born November 16, 1925 in Evansville, Indiana; daughter of the late Charles “C.D.” and Susie Cooke Miller. One of Juanita’s first jobs was working in Washington D.C. as a telephone operator for the U.S. Naval Department; that is where she met the love of her life, Enos A. (Bud) Tolson; they were later married on September 16, 1945. Upon moving to Arkansas, Mrs. Juanita continued working for Southwestern Bell Telephone company until she retired to become a mother and homemaker. She also helped the Mullen’s Abstract in Walnut Ridge recording deeds and other important paperwork. Juanita was very active in life, she was a local girl scout leader; she helped deliver Meals on Wheels to the elderly and was at one time the President of the WMU. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, spending time with her family and most of all she was an avid Bowler. She bowled in local Leagues, played with several different professional bowlers, and was named Jonesboro’s Bowler of the Year once. Juanita was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud; a brother, Clint D. Miller and a half-brother, Carl Killabrew. Survivors include two sons, Wendell (Gail) Tolson of Walnut Ridge, and Michael Tolson of Paragould; three daughters, Sharon Spades and Darla (David) McEntire all of Walnut Ridge and Mary (Miles) Davis of Jonesboro; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 12 P.M. in the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Bro. Jake Guenrich and Bro. Dennis Truxler officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip, Barry, Brent and Ronnie Tolson, Rusty McGaha, David McEntire, Miles Davis, and Jeff Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are Jody Benson, Bob McMaster, Rich Nesladek, Adam Pate, Bradley Tolson, Jeff Penn, Cory Davis, Rigo Reyes and Zaid Guerra Ontiveros. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. till 12 P.M. Saturday. Facemasks and Social Distancing is recommended in the church.
