T.Z. Jones

T.Z. Jones, 92 of Egypt passed away January 12, 2020 in the St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro. Born March 9, 1927 in Walnut Ridge; son of the late Thomas Jones and Rose Etta Cook. He was a Farmer and a Ginner for the Cotton Gin in Egypt. T.Z. was united in marriage to Lula Belle Cline-Jones on December 24, 1955 and they enjoyed 64 years of Marriage together. T.Z. was the youngest of his siblings; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a hard worker and spent most of his time outside working, he was kind and caring to all and he never met a stranger. He was also a faithful member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ near Walnut Ridge for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Verda Bates and Virgie Fultner; two brothers, Raymond Jones and Liman Jones. Survivors include his wife, Lula Belle of the home; two sons, Steve (Luann) Jones of Hoxie, and Tony (Georgie) Jones of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Larinda (Steve) Rainwater of Brookland and Karen (John) Stewart of Mountain View; ten grandchildren, Nathan (Kerri) Jones, Whitney (Maurice) Johnson, Adam (Cassie) Pratt, Magen (Eric) Elliott, Hali (Wesley) Hardage, Kayla Miller, Jerrod (Amber) Rainwater, Elizabeth Sitzer, Rebecca Rainwater and Jill (Garrett) Gaither; twenty great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Charles (Janet) Bates, Louise Riddle and Joyce (Jerry) Hensley all of Pocahontas; and Tom “Bud” (Nancy) Fultner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 15, at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Grove Church of Christ with Bill Willard officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Jones, Maurice Johnson, Eric Elliot, Jerrod, Hunter and Gunner Rainwater. Honorary Pallbearers are Arlen Williams, Jerry “Bud” Felts, Dorman, Mackey, Rodney and Steve Hufstedler and Odell “Shorty” Fort. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Bryan Funeral Home Tuesday, January 14 from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M.
